Again this summer, Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society is holding Family Camp, 5-day educational adventures on Catalina Island.
20 to 25 families come together with Cousteau, Dr. Richard Murphy and other experts to learn about the ocean. All equipment is available, including wetsuits, masks, fins, snorkels, kayaks, sailboats, lifejackets and beach towels; the camp also has a tennis and basketball court and soccer field.
I'm partial to Cousteau's Ocean Futures organization and to Monsieur Cousteau himself, as he very graciously contriburted a smashing preface to my book, The California Coast.
